Hippos can only be found in Africa. Well… that’s not entirely true. In the Colombian jungle a small, but growing colony of wild hippos can be found. In the 1980s they were imported by the infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar to live in his private zoo, alongside elephants, giraffes and other exotic animals. But when Escobar was killed and his estate was raided by the Colombian army, his hippos were set free in the jungle. The humid circumstances making them even more eager to reproduce… Which is why they got labelled as sex-crazed cocaine hippos! This is the first episode in our series Grunts & Bellows.
